Product description

REAGEN? FluoroquinoloneStrip Test Kit is a qualitative and rapid lateral flow assay designed to detectfluoroquinolone antibiotic residues in raw commingled cows milk. Thisstate-of-the-art test uses a broad-spectrum antibody capable of specificallydetecting a range of fluoroquinolone residues. This test is designed forpoint-of-care use or reference lab settings and eliminates the need for aheating block.

The features of the kit are:

l         Rapid strip test method – 7 minutes

l         Broad-spectrum antibody that requires no heatingstep

l         High sensitivity

l         High reproducibility

Mechanismof reaction

Theassay uses a competitive colloidal gold based format. The milksample(200μL)isadded to a clear plastic reaction vessel, and used to resuspend the lyophilizedreagents to a uniform pink color in the bottom of the microtiter wells. The milkis incubated briefly(3 min)to allow the fluoroquinolone antibody on the goldparticles to engage with any fluoroquinolone antibiotic residues present in themilk. The test strip is then inserted into the sample well with the arrowspointing downward initiating capillary flow up the strip.Any gold particlesthat are not complexed with antibiotics present in the milk will bind to thefluoroquinolone antibiotic imprinted at the Test line(T-line),forming asignal(red line)at that position. If the fluoroquinolone antibody on the goldparticle has engaged with antibiotic present in the milk sample, the gold particle will flow past the T-line and reach theControl line(C-line).For visual interpretation of the test results,T-linesignal intensity that is stronger than the signal at the C-line indicates anegative result.Signal at the T-line which is equal or less intense compared tothe C-line indicates the presence of fluoroquinolone antibiotics in themilk. The greater the reduction in signal intensity at the T-line,the greaterthe concentration of fluoroquinolone antibiotic residues present in the milk.
